Job Summary
As a Web Designer at Pointer, you will be working closely with our Creative Director, our greater UX/UI team, and our clients to primarily design beautiful, functional, and responsive ecommerce experiences on Shopify. This position is also responsible for working in Shopify itself to set up and configure storefronts with the client's brand identity. Your client roster will include everything from small start-up shops to A-list celebrities and everything in between.
Responsibilities
- Design functional and visually appealing ecommerce experiences in Figma that follow ecommerce best practices and comply with WCAG guidelines.
- Various graphic design tasks including but not limited to asset manipulation and creation, illustration, social media graphics, and email design.
- Configure theme settings in Shopify Admin to align with the client's brand identity.
- Keep up to date with design trends and advancements in technology, software, and accessibility.
- Collaborate with individuals from other departments (e.g., Strategists, Developers, Account Managers) to ensure all designs are meeting the business and strategic objectives of the project.
- Adhere to established timelines and budgets.
Experience
- Completion of formal design education or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the following software packages: Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Preferred Skills
- Strong working knowledge of the Shopify platform is preferred but not required. We offer comprehensive Shopify training to all new hires.
- Illustration, photography, and/or video editing skills.
- Experience with AI generative tools such as Midjourney, Firefly, Synthesia, etc.
- Experience with motion graphics in Framer or After Effects
- 3D modelling/design knowledge is a plus.
- HTML/CSS general knowledge (this is not a developer position, but it helps if you’re familiar with the underlying technology your designs will be built on).
- In-depth knowledge of WCAG, AODA, and ADA and how it impacts design.

Compensation
$72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
